CHARITY OF THE YEAR

We at FASATS are proud to support a Charity of the Year.

This means that from the 1st of January to the 31st December we will be supporting our chosen charity through various events and activites. Anything we raise during this time through those events, activites, or simply from collections at our performances will all be donated to our chosen charity.

All of the chosen charities that we elect to support each year are nominated by our members and put forward to the group. Votes are cast and the winning charity is then the focus for that year.

Each chosen charity holds a special significance to our members and so our supporting these charities is very imporant to us!

We hope you will support us in our efforts and we hope to see you soon at one of our fundraising events!

The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We won’t rest until: • MND is treatable and ultimately curable • Everyone gets the care they need when they need it • Every day with MND counts • You are heard • No one faces MND alone.

Just Like Us

Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity.
LGBT+ school pupils are twice as likely to have been bullied and 91% have heard negative language about being LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans) in the past year. Growing up LGBT+ is still unacceptably tough. Just Like Us work with schools and young people across the UK to change this and help make schools safer, happier and more welcoming places for all young people.

The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity

The Silverlining Charity helps to rebuild and support the lives of all those affected by and living with brain injury. The Silverlining Charity helps to encourage a social support network for the injured, their family members, and the wider community while supporting projects to promote purpose and a sense of direction to a very skilled group of individuals.

Polycystic Kidney Disease

PKD Charity are the first and only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 people affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in the UK.
PKD Charity was founded in 2000 and led by patients, clinicians and family members, they have first-hand experience of the struggles that come with PKD. They have been helping individuals and families with PKD to live life as fully as possible by providing personal support, information, raising awareness and funding research.

Myeloma UK

Myeloma UK was established in 1997 to change the lives of patients with myeloma and related conditions. When they first started their work, the average length of time a patient with myeloma could expect to survive was between 12 and 24 months, today that time has quadrupled to between 4 and 8 years, with 3 out of 10 patients living for 10 years or more after their diagnosis!

The British Heart Foundation

Heart attacks that strike without warning, strokes that shatter futures, newborn babies born with broken hearts. These are just some of the cruelties of cardiovascular disease. And the brutal reality is, there is so much more for science to discover before we can beat the world’s biggest killers.

That’s why the British Heart Foundation exists. Funding research is how we change the game. And we all have a role to play. The tools we have at our disposal today - from heart transplants and pacemakers to stents and portable defibrillators - are all down to research. Research made possible by people like you.
